Sathvikaa Shankar

Sathvikaa Shankar is among the leading young Bharatanatyam artistes of her generation and a senior disciple of Guru Smt. Anitha Guha, under whom she began training at the age of six. Over the years, she has blossomed into a compelling performer known for her maturity, vitality, and strong stage presence.
A graded artiste of Doordarshan, Sathvikaa has presented several acclaimed solo performances at prestigious venues in India and abroad. Her dancing is marked by emotional depth, clarity of line, and an instinctive ability to inhabit the characters she portrays with conviction and sensitivity. She has also performed significant roles in her guru’s major dance productions, earning admiration for her theatrical command and expressive versatility, particularly in character-driven roles that demand both dramatic intensity and imaginative spontaneity.
Her accomplishments have been recognised through honours such as the National Balshree Award, presented by the President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the CCRT Scholarship from the Government of India, and titles including Padma Bharathi, Nrithya Jyothi, and Best Dancer from Sri Krishna Gana Sabha. She is also an empanelled artiste of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations.
Alongside her artistic journey, Sathvikaa has distinguished herself academically as a Chartered Accountant. She continues to deepen her engagement with Bharatanatyam through advanced training in nattuvangam, choreography, pedagogy, and theory, reflecting her commitment to evolving into a complete and well-rounded artiste.
